The Silk'n uses disposable lamp cartridges, which provide the photothermal pulse that removes the hair. These cartridges will flash 750 times each before they need to be replaced. Each flash covers an area of 6 square cms. So by measuring your intended treatment areas you can determine how much area 1 cartridge will cover.The Silk'n System comes with 2 cartridges included. Or you can opt for the 4 cartridges configuration. Replacement cartrtridges can be purchased here in 1, 3, 5 and 10 piece packages. Silk'n Replacement Cartridges Frequently Asked Questions
How long do the cartridges last?
Each cartridge will last for approximately 750 pulses. Each pulse covers an area of 2 X 3 cms for a total of 4500 cm/sq.
Why are the cartridges so expensive?
Compared to professional treatments and machines, they are actually quite inexpensive. Typically 1 underam treatment in a professional clinic will cost $50 - $75 in a clinic, whereas 1 underarm treatment with Silk'n uses approximately 9 to 12 pulses. A full leg treatment would cost $250 to $350, whereas 2 to 4 leg treatments can be done with 1 Silk'n Cartridge.
How many cartridges will I need?
This is hard to tell. If you are planning on treating large areas such as legs or back, then we siuggest you purchase a cartridge package of 3, 5 or 10 cartridges for cost savings and convenience.
Can I share cartidges?
Sure. Cartridges can be shared between individuals. We recommend cleaning the treatment face with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth or tissue after every usage.
Can the cartridge be removed and put back in the machine again?
Yes. The cartridge will remember it's unique pulse count. This is convenient for people who wish to share a machine but use their own cartridges.
