Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid and an important constituent of many proteins. Tyrosine is also involved in many processes involving the hair. It is important in the production of melanin in the hair bulb, which gives hair it's colour. Tyrosine is also important in the synthesis of the thyroid hormones as well the adrenal hormone noradrenaline. It is through this action on noradrenaline that tyrosine owes it's effects on many types of hair loss. Tyrosine inhibits inflammation by increasing production of noradrenaline in the brain, which instructs the body to reduce it's production of noradrenaline in the skin. This can have a beneficial effect on any hair loss condition where inflammation is a factor, which is, in fact, most types. Tyrosine can also aid in the fight against psoriasis through the same channels.
Tyrosine is also indicated for help with physical and emotional, which can also be complicit in various types of hair loss.
